Virtual Consultation & Community Outreach

Education, advocacy, and collaborative problem-solving are at the heart of what we do. In addition to our direct therapy and AAC support, we offer virtual consultative services for parents, caregivers, and the broader community. Please note: These services are consultative and educational in nature. They are separate from direct clinical speech-language therapy.

Parent Coaching & Consultation

Sometimes you don't need ongoing weekly therapy - you just need a professional to help you brainstorm, problem-solve, or understand your child's unique communication style.

Wenshin offers live, professional consultations and coaching via video chat for parents and caregivers across California. These neurodiversity-affirming sessions are highly individualized and can be used to:

  • Have an in-depth discussion with a certified Speech-Language Pathologist about your child's communication profile.

  • Review IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) or school reports to ensure goals are neuroaffirming and appropriate.

  • Learn practical, play-based strategies to support your child’s communication and self-advocacy at home.

  • Discuss ways to build a more accessible, accommodating environment for your neurodivergent child without focusing on compliance.

Community Outreach & Education

We believe that access to communication is a basic human right, and creating accessible communities requires systemic education. Wenshin provides community outreach services for organizations, parent groups, and educational programs.
 

Our outreach services can be provided in English or Mandarin and include:

  • Speaking engagements and panel discussions

  • Parent coaching classes and group workshops

  • Professional training and webinars on neurodiversity-affirming communication practices
