Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your service location?
We primarily offer in-home and community-based sessions for families in the following areas of San Diego County: Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, Poway, Torrey Highlands, 4S Ranch, Carmel Valley, and Scripps Ranch.
Exceptions can be made depending on our availability or when families have a difficult time finding a Mandarin-speaking and/or a therapist specialized in working with gestalt language processors and AAC users, so please reach out if you are in an area outside of the ones listed above. We also provide tele-therapy sessions and parent coaching sessions for families residing in the state of California.
How long and how frequent are therapy visits?
We offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute sessions. Depending on your child's needs, therapy is recommended at 1x or 2x per week. The scope and duration of therapy will be discussed after the initial evaluation.
What age do you work with?
We work with a wide range of ages from 1-21.
Can I be present for my child's session?
We highly encourage parents/caregivers/family members be a part of therapy sessions. We value the opportunity to connect with the child's family and integrate the communication and connection facilitation strategies we are using into the family's everyday routine.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a service provider for San Diego Regional Center. For families with children under the age of 3 years old, please contact your San Diego Regional Center service coordinator and mention our SDRC vendor number (PY2625) if you are interested in receiving early intervention services from us.
For families in San Diego with children over the age of 3 years old, we are an out-of-network provider. We accept credit card, checks, HSA, FSA, and cash payments. Superbills can be provided upon request for families to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement.
Not accepting insurance ensures that there are no restrictions or limitations to the therapy setting, duration, frequency, evaluation/teaching approach, and goals, etc. we can set for your child based on their unique strengths and needs. It also ensures that we can devote time and resources to providing services that will benefit our clients more directly, such as providing and purchasing individualized therapy materials and catering to your child's specific interests and needs.
